How do I start learning to drive?

Before you can start your driving lessons you must have reached the age of 17 and be in possession of a provisional driving licence. You can obtain a provisional driving licence application form from your local post office or by contacting the DVLA direct on 0870 240 0009.
You can apply for your provisional car driving licence up to three months before your seventeenth birthday. However, it would not be valid until your birthday. The current cost of the licence is £45.

You must also meet the requirements of the eyesight test.

How many lessons will I need?

The best way to learn to drive is to take regular lessons spread over a few weeks. The DSA recommend that you have 40-45 hours of professional tuition plus plenty of private practice to ensure you are best prepared for your practical test. The number of lessons you need will depend on your ability, whether you have had any previous experience and whether you will have additional practice with family or friends.

Your course of lessons at drive 2 pass will be structured to your needs, allowing you to reach the required standard for your tests as soon as possible.

How long is each lesson?

drive 2 pass lessons can be 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours long to suit your needs.

The in-car training I provide is on a one to one basis, there will be no other pupil in the car.

Appointments can often be arranged to suit your lifestyle and can include pickup from home, school, college, university or work. You can even finish your lesson in a different place by arrangement.
